Welcome
Hi there, my name is Amir Ahmad and I warmly welcome you to my humble blog – one which I hope will be of value to you. Here at Passion-Based Learning, at least once weekly, you’ll find tips and ideas on how to:
- nurture your passions
- improve your learning skills
- leverage the power of the internet
- fulfill your inner potential and
- live the life you deserve
The story, mine and this blog’s, is one I invite you to read.

It is my solid belief that people should be able to pursue their passions and effectively learn that which emotionally satisfies them. Not everyone chooses to walk down that path. Different people are held back to various extents for diverse reasons. Some break free. Most don’t. This blog is my humble way of helping remedy the situation.
I’m just a regular 21 year old guy. I have no formal qualifications. Besides the long list of relevant books I’ve read, life has been my biggest teacher. Having a father who is a professor may have helped too. As a result, I learned a thing or two about learning itself – how to engage in it effectively and how to ultimately learn more with less.
Apart from being passionate about personal-development, curious about philosophy and in love with music production (something which is largely self-taught), I’m also a freelance writer. Furthermore, the works of Lev Vegotsky and W. Apple are of particular interest to me.
Previously I’ve studied psychology and worked for close to a year as a marketing analyst at a leading multinational telecom corporation. Currently I’m a final year undergraduate university student majoring in knowledge management.
The Blog’s Sections
The content of PBL is written under 8 categories. They are:
Nurturing Passion - If you’ve let your job or the education system crush your soul, if you’re simply confused and still haven’t figured out what your passions are and what to pursue, then this section will help.
Learning More With Less - Sometimes life just seems to get more hectic with every passing day. As the name indicates, this section is focused on productivity and efficiency in learning.
Leveraging Technology - Seeking information and creating a personal learning environment has never been easier in all of mankind’s existence. Leverage technology and boost your learning experience.
Learning by Doing - Very often, learning by doing is simply the best way to learn. Applying what we learn enables us to learn further from trial and error.
Miscellaneous Learning Tips - There are a thousand and one ways you can engage in learning more effectively. These are random tips and wide-ranging creative ideas to help you do that.
Understanding Knowledge - We learn to acquire knowledge but what is knowledge really? This section attempts to provide insights into the nature of knowledge. It draws significantly from philosophy.
Story Telling - Stories are powerful and can have great impact on the way we think. Telling them and listening to others tell them is an excellent way to create richer learning experiences.
Fear and the Comfort Zone - Too often, the fear of failure is what mainly separates average individuals from high achievers.
